Modeling and Control of Asymmetric Γ-source Inverters for Photovoltaic Applications

This paper presents a power electronic interface converter based on asymmetric Γ-Source Inverter for photovoltaic application. The average state space model of the system is used for modeling of the proposed converter system. According to the obtained model of system, a two stage controller is designed to regulate the capacitor voltage of the impedance network to its required voltage and regulate Photovoltaic system voltage to its reference provided in maximum power point algorithm. To this aim, inverter modulation index, which is produced in AC side current controller, is used to adjust capacitor voltage in impedance network and inverter shoot through duty cycle is used to regulate PV voltage to its reference. Performance of the proposed two stage controller is verified using simulation in MATLAB/Simulink.
